Courses designed for children

Our children’s workshops vary in length depending on your needs, and typically involve 1-2 successive full days or 2 or 3 half-days, allowing for drawing time and time for the crafts to dry between different processes. Longer course are also available.

We frequently organise workshops in schools during Arts weeks/days, but are happy to arrange them to fit in with other parts of the curriculum, and this can avoid disappointment as we tend to be very busy during the period May to July with many schools organising activities during the summer months. Each workshop starts with a detailed description of the project, followed by demonstrations for children and helpers alike.  We also always bring large displays and examples of work as these are invaluable in providing inspiration to children.

We work to a range of themes, especially cultural (e.g. Africa, India, Aboriginal etc.) and environmental (e.g. the sea, jungle etc.), although we can organise workshops around other themes. Where ever possible the art is created using recyclable materials.

Arts weeks - all Art and Craft subjects

More and more schools are organising Arts weeks for Key Stage 1 to 3 children as an exciting and successful way to continue and develop the Arts in the curriculum. If you are thinking of having an Arts week at your school we can offer a comprehensive service to guide you through the process, from initial planning to coordinating activities throughout the year groups. Brief notes are provided here to help you to organise an Arts week. Please contact us to discuss how we can support you in organising your Arts week.

Children’s textile workshops

These workshops are individually tailored to meet your particular curriculum requirements for Key Stages 1 & 2. Workshops can take place in a half-day session, a full day, or over several days. Children will have the chance to work with Textile Artists who are also experienced teachers, exploring materials, techniques and media that may not normally be available to them, in a stimulating and challenging learning environment.

We can also work with Key Stages 3 and 4 on specific textile processes such as Batik, screen-printing, weaving or felt-making.
