Children’s workshops available

Below are details of some of the Key Stage 1 to 2 Arts and Crafts courses available from us for children in schools in the South of England and the London area, although there are many more possibilities that are not described here. We also organise workshops at Key Stage 3.

All workshops are custom designed to suit your needs, so if you are interested in a workshop, then please contact us for a no-obligation discussion.

We are only able to offer workshops in the South of England and London area. However, you may be interested in our Project Teaching Packs which provide practical advice with full information on undertaking a wide range of art and craft activities in schools. Full day course £200 plus materials and travel costs

Sculptural workshop - Create a Totem Pole  Key Stage 2

This different and exciting workshop starts with a talk illustrated with examples and includes the important aspects of drawing and design for 3-dimensional art.  Children then create their own interpretation of Totem Poles.

The workshop is organised over 3 half-days to allow all processes to be completed.

 

 

 

 

 

Gargoyles and Grotesques  Key Stage 2

This is an exciting workshop on “those funny and creepy things” on the roofs and parapets of old buildings. It includes a presentation on these historical sculptures, and children make their own 3D grotesques.

The workshop includes drawing and design work and is organised over 3 half-days to allow all processes to be completed.

 

 

 

 

 

Puppets and performance  Key Stages 1 and 2

Children will create puppets out of interesting materials related to a story, poem or song. Then children will perform a play using their created characters.

This workshop takes place over 2 days, and includes rehearsal time.

 

 

 

 

 

Mini-beasts and sea monsters  Key Stages 1 and 2

This workshop is great fun as children can let their imaginations run wild! There will be plenty of help and advice on design and drawing, followed by the construction of creatures using unusual materials.

This workshop takes place over 1 ½ days.

 

 

 

 

 

Masks with music  Key Stages 1 and 2

During this workshop masks are created on a theme of the sea, jungle or Africa. A performance is then given using the masks.

This workshop takes place over 2 days, and includes rehearsal time.

This is our most popular workshop! Children are introduced to the world of masks through large displays and actual masks from around the world. Masks are then created by the children to make a truly sculptural form. This workshop can be organised over 1 day or 2 half-days, to allow for drying time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Masks   Key Stage 2

Key Stage 2 children can make even more detailed and elaborate masks, which can be based on a variety of themes, for example Africa, Greeks, animals, mythical monsters, space, aliens etc.

This workshop can be organised over 1 day or 2 half-days, to allow for drying time.

Paper-making  Key Stage 1

Children will experience this fun craft, and then use the resulting papers to make a large and attractive collage.

This workshop is organised over 2 half-days to allow for drying time.

 

 

 

 

 

Felt-making  Key Stages 1 and 2

Children will learn this fun and straightforward craft, creating individual or collaborative felts. This workshop suits all abilities.

This workshop is organised over 1 day.

 

 

 

 

 

T-shirt printing   Tie-dye Key Stage 1, Screen-printing Key Stage 2

 

Children's art and craft workshop - t shirt printing tie dye and screen printing

 

 

Children will learn how to apply exciting designs to T-shirts, using the straight-forward technique of tie-dye, which is suitable for younger children, or by screen-printing, which is suitable for Key Stage 2 children.

The workshops are organised over 1 day.
