paper making and tie dye paper school project

This Project Teaching Pack introduces the exciting crafts of paper-making and tie dyed paper.  It is suitable for Key Stages 1 and 2 and also as an introduction to the processes for Key Stage 3. It dispels the myths that paper-making is difficult and tie-dye boring! With a wide variety of beautiful papers to make children love this project and create unusual handmade papers and vivid bright patterns in tie-dye  paper.

The pack includes detailed instructions and recipes for making handmade paper from a variety of materials including partly processed fibres and from vegetable material. There is information on the use of dyes and materials that can be added to the paper to produce a range of different results.  The pack also includes guidance on an exciting collaborative project.

Tie-dye paper is a novel craft that produces stunning results, but which is not commonly tried in schools.  It is easy for children to do and the pack contains detailed instructions for producing a number of different designs with numerous detailed illustrations and full colour photographs. With the exception of consumable materials and equipment the pack includes everything necessary to undertake papercrafts projects in the classroom.

The pages of each Project Teaching Pack are in individual plastic sleeves to protect them against spills and damage in the classroom and the packs are in a sturdy loose-leaf folder so that materials can be removed for display.  Each Project Teaching Pack contains a detailed materials and equipment list.  Packs are also now available in pdf form, offering a considerable saving on printed packs.

This pack is suitable for children from Key Stage 1 and beyond. Step by step instructions on how to make felt in the classroom, with numerous design and project ideas.  Find out more >>>
